What it is
Flicka is a Chrome-extension screen recorder aimed at launch-ready product demos: record a tab, window, screen, drawn area, or camera; annotate (draw, highlight, arrows, text, blur) on the page while recording; auto-zoom on clicks in the editor; on-device captions; webcam layouts (bubble / side-by-side / camera-only); export locally. Who it is for

Privacy-sensitive teams (customer PII on screen) who refuse cloud recorders. If you need multi-track timeline editing for long interviews, reach for a full NLE (or Supacut-style interview tools). If you only need a quick Loom-style share link with cloud hosting, Flicka’s local-first model is a different bet.

Fresh public launch: Product Hunt featured Flicka on 2026-09-21 (~3 days; ~94 upvotes / ~13 comments, ~#11 of day) after a prior web-app week that moved into the extension for on-page draw/blur. Design / video-demo niche on our board is thin versus Dev-tools; Flicka fills “local-first demo recorder with click-zoom + live annotate” without listing Loom/Tella as household brands.
Caveats
We have not bought Pro or stress-tested crash recovery / caption accuracy ourselves. Extension scope means it is Chromium-family only for now — no native Safari/Firefox app called out. Free watermark may be fine for internal cuts but not for public launch posts. Early-product risk: editor depth vs Screen Studio-class polish, and whether auto-zooms are fully adjustable after the take (community asked; confirm in current build).
