What it is

HookDeploy is webhook infrastructure for makers who need a stable public capture URL and delivery into private networks without opening inbound ports. We verified https://hookdeploy.dev/ on 2026-09-24 (HTTP 200). The product captures HTTPS POSTs at Cloudflare’s edge (marketed as under ~100ms), stores them with inspectable headers/body/query, can transform and fan out to one or more HTTPS destinations, and optionally delivers through a source-available outbound mTLS agent to loopback on Linux, macOS, or Windows — so production servers never need a public IP or open port for that path. A signed Desktop Agent on Mac/Windows can start a temporary “tap” that copies live traffic to 127.0.0.1 while production destinations keep delivering. Free plan includes a monthly request cap and short retention; Starter and higher unlock production agents and longer history. Treat latency, region lists, and encryption claims as vendor documentation until you run your own load and threat model.

Who it is for

Indie SaaS builders, automation folks (n8n / Zapier / Make), and small teams that receive Stripe-style or multi-source webhooks and hate debugging silent drops after outages. If you only need a one-off throwaway URL for five minutes, a free webhook inbox site is lighter. If you already run a mature event gateway with dedicated SRE ownership, HookDeploy is early competition, not a rip-and-replace for enterprise mesh. Private delivery and laptop taps matter most when firewalls stay closed by policy or when you want production replay without putting a laptop on the public internet.

Fresh public ship: Show HN 2026-09-23 (~1 day before this listing; HN Algolia + independent republish timestamps), live product surface with Free/Starter pricing and signup — not a waitlist. Our Infra column was thin (SereneDB only) while the board stays Dev-tools heavy; HookDeploy fills “webhook capture + private mTLS delivery + inspect/replay” without padding in an established Hookdeck-class brand. Distinct from SereneDB (Postgres-compatible search/analytics engine): HookDeploy is edge webhook plumbing and private delivery, not a database.

Caveats

We have not enrolled a production agent, measured real capture latency under load, or audited org-scoped encryption / retention behavior ourselves. Free hard-caps and payload-body storage limits can surprise you mid-incident; read current plan limits and 429 / storage-limit behavior before you point critical billing webhooks only at HookDeploy. Agent distribution, BYOK roadmap items, and region coverage can change after launch week — confirm today’s docs and terms before you treat private delivery as a compliance control.
