What it is

LoupeKit is a browser extension that puts a floating inspector on the tab you already have open. We verified loupekit.com on 2026-09-23 (HTTP 200). The panel names frameworks and other stack signals with the marker that matched, pulls palette / fonts / assets off the rendered page, and ships a large diagnostics surface (the site’s tools index lists 75 items — rulers, overflow, requests, tokens, keyboard walk, and more). The headline differentiator for makers right now is the “vibe” audit: a heuristic 0–100 score for how much the page reads as AI-generated or vibecoded, with findings that try to walk you to the element rather than dump a black-box verdict.

Privacy positioning is unusually explicit for this category. Marketing and the Product Hunt maker thread both stress empty host_permissions in the shipped manifests — analysis is scoped to the active tab when you ask, not a standing crawl of the open web. Site schema and store links cover Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and other Chromium browsers (Brave, Opera, Arc, Vivaldi, etc.); Safari is not listed among supported operating systems on the product schema we checked. Pricing on the site: Free €0; Pro monthly €6.99; Pro lifetime €74.99 (site/search notes the lifetime price rising toward €119.99). Free tier meters audits (maker states 3 free); broader read-the-page tools stay usable without paying.

Who it’s for

Indie makers, freelancers, and small teams who review live pages they do not own — competitive spy, client handoff, or a quick “does this ship look vibecoded?” pass — without wiring a repo linter or pasting HTML into a model. If you only ever inspect your own codebase inside DevTools or a CI a11y suite, LoupeKit is optional. If you repeatedly open stranger sites and want stack evidence + design tokens + a calibrated smell test in one panel, the shape fits.

Why we listed it

Fresh enough for this board: Product Hunt featured day 2026-08-26 (~28 days at list time), live site verified 2026-09-23. Category gap — we already have Mac agent leftovers (Clueprint), URL-in design scorecards (Polishory), and several AI/agent runtimes, but no browser-extension page inspector that pairs stack-with-evidence and a local vibe audit. Fits the new-only bar: early indie extension from named maker Jan (Ján Turský / Apptiary on PH), not a household Wappalyzer-class brand we would reject as “old.”

Caveats

We have not installed the extension on ops browsers or independently audited the 0-host-permission claim, tracker-free marketing, or vibe-score calibration. Heuristic AI-authorship scores are opinions with known false-positive risk (e.g. dense utility CSS on intentional Tailwind pages) — treat findings as prompts to look, not as courtroom proof. Free-tier audit meters and Pro export/server-side features will move; lifetime €74.99 → €119.99 is a launch pricing path, not a forever guarantee. Early-product risk remains: detection depth, Safari absence, and how often “vibe” weights get retuned.
