The public pitch: describe a job in plain language, close your laptop, and agents keep working until they ping you with a checked result — or ask when they need a decision. Unlike chatbots stuck in a sandbox, Solid provisions the environment each job needs (Windows/macOS computers, Linux servers/VMs, iPhones/Android, cloud instances on AWS or Azure, plus hardware you attach), can create Google/Apple accounts at [email protected], and can sign up and pay for third-party services within the budget and approval gates you set. Agents can use tools through APIs or operate UI like a person; when something is missing they can build it, bring in helpers (including Codex / Claude Code–style agents), and return one reviewed outcome. Example workflows on the marketing site include custom sales demos from meeting notes, LinkedIn lead research with approval-gated outreach, AI product evals after each release, production-alert → tested fix PRs, and stalled support tickets. Who it is for

Also useful if you want always-on agents inside your own product via the Solid API. If you only need a single LLM chat or a one-shot codegen sandbox, Solid is heavier than you need. If your compliance policy forbids automated third-party account creation or agent-initiated payments, read terms and configure approval gates before you rely on the “sign up and pay” path. Fresh public launch: Product Hunt featured Solid on 2026-09-23 (~1 day before this listing; #1 Product of the Day surface with ~445 upvotes on hunted.space / PH launch coverage), live marketing site verified 2026-09-24. Our AI / agents column was still thin (~4) while the board stays Dev-tools heavy — Solid fills “agents with real computers, accounts, and budgets” without padding another Dev CLI. Distinct from Harden (coding-agent security layer), Kody/Elva (agent/dev assistants), and Jev (typed probabilistic decisions): Solid is the job-runner OS with provisioned machines and spend controls, not a model API or prompt firewall.

Caveats

We have not completed a Starter-to-paid job cycle, measured long-running reliability on our own workloads, or audited how third-party ToS / MFA / payment-processor risk is handled when agents create accounts.
